Intermittent Phone System Outages are Currently Affecting Marathon County, the City of Wausau, and NCHC

The NCHC phone system outage that began on Thursday, March 21 is now ALL CLEAR. We have returned to normal business operations regarding. We apologize for any disruption to services and thank you for your patience.

[WAUSAU, WI, March 21, 2024] Marathon County, City of Wausau, and North Central Health Care (NCHC) are currently experiencing an intermittent phone outage affecting incoming calls to various County, City, and NCHC facilities. Technicians are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Incoming calls to 911 are not affected by this outage.

In Marathon County, to contact emergency services for law enforcement, fire, or EMS, please call 911. All 911 operations are fully functional and ready to respond.

If you are unable to reach North Central Health Care Crisis Center for emergency mental health and crisis services in Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade Counties, you may contact the Crisis Center in one of the following ways:

  • Call 988
  • Contact a local emergency room
