North Central Health Care Welcomes Three Additional Doctors to Medical College of Wisconsin – Central Wisconsin Psychiatry Residency Program at NCHC Wausau Campus

Community Welcome Event for Psychiatry Residency Program Planned for Monday, June 25, 2018

(Wausau, WI) North Central Health Care (NCHC) is pleased to announce and welcome the residents of the 2018 Medical College of Wisconsin – Central Wisconsin Psychiatry Residency Program in a Community Welcome Event on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the North Central Health Care Wausau Campus. The event is open to community partners and the public to celebrate and welcome three doctors who will begin their residency programs at NCHC: Shweta Anand Karve, MD, Christian Ryser, DO and Tsarina Rachel VanWieren, DO.

Continuing a mission to provide more physicians to rural and underserved areas of Wisconsin, Department of Health Services (DHS) announced in May of 2014 http://bit.ly/2rNWdg7 that over $3.3 million in grants were awarded to six health organizations to establish new Graduate Medical Education programs (GME) over the following three years. North Central Health Care in Wausau, was awarded a $370,771 grant for development of a specialty residency program targeting psychiatry. The incoming 2018 class of doctors will be joining the inaugural class of three doctors seeking to complete their residency programs here in Central Wisconsin.

The Community Welcome Event will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a Welcome Program beginning at 5:00 pm, including a white coat presentation ceremony. Guests will have the opportunity to meet all three new doctors, in addition to the other physicians in residency and on staff at NCHC, and share in light refreshments and appetizers. Attendees are asked to park near the main entrance marked with a yellow flag located at 1100 Lake View Drive in Wausau, and follow signage to the outdoor event located near the Physician Lounge on the Wausau Campus.
